Commanding Officer’s Word - January 2009

Greetings and Happy New Year to all the families, Sailors and Marines of Military Police Company and Task Force Military Police Company!  I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and prosperous new year and my hopes that you all receive many blessings.  As we begin to rebuild both companies, we are also rebuilding our Family Readiness Volunteers and we plan on continuing the tradition of supporting each other like we did on the last deployment to Iraq.

We have many new faces to the companies and since getting back from Iraq, there has been little rest for the weary.  But it is my goal and hopes that you had a great holiday with your families and got to spend some quality time relaxing and enjoying the company of loved ones.

I want to personally thank all those families that supported us on the last deployment and my staff and I pledge to you to continue the tradition of the MP Company Newsletter to keep you informed and to let you see what your Marines are up to when they are at work.  Enjoy.

A Look Ahead

Our focus as we head into the New Year is to accomplish all of our annual and required training. As soon as that is mostly complete, we are going to hone our basic MP skills and train on them.

As we progress throughout the spring, we plan on moving into more live fire ranges and higher levels of training in order to prepare for a huge certification field exercise we will be conducting in July. Please mark your calendars because from the 13-18 of July, your Sailors and Marines will be conducting continuous missions all over Camp Pendleton. I will continue to update you about some of the specifics as each news letter comes out.

Semper Fi

I would like to close by assuring you that the Staff NCOs and Officers of each Company take your Marines and their development very seriously. I feel blessed to work with such a fine group of professionals that genuinely care about each and every Marine in the Company.

We will be conducting some hard training and sometimes working some long hours. But I will always recognize that these Marines have families at home that need their attention to detail as well. Whenever possible, we will allow your Marines to enjoy family time at the earliest possible times. I want to personally thank each and every one of you for the sacrifice that non-military families would ever understand as you support you Marines and Sailors.

Semper Fidelis and I hope to meet you all at the next company family day in the spring.
