Due to our geographic location, CLC-16 has the responsibility of representing the tenure of professionalism in the 1st Marine Logistics Group and in the United States Marine Corps. Therefore, it is imperative that we be the premier Combat Logistics Company in the Marine Corps and present ourselves accordingly.

We provide all facets of tactical logistics to aviation and ground operating units as well as to the Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactic Squadron-1. When deployed, we continue this mission and remain the tactical logistics conduit for a reinforced Marine Air Group and other units operating in our general area of operations.

In order to do this we must be flexible in our methodology, and we must be multifunctional logistics planners. Our skills and our mindset must reach beyond our occupational specialty. In other words, we have to be horizontal thinkers – we have to take responsibility in our tasks and be willing to cooperate with others in reaching mission accomplishment.

We not only have to know the ‘box’, but we must be ready to think outside of the ‘box’. We must understand all aspects of combat service support as well as the command and control process of a combat logistics organization. This will enable every Marine and Sailor to effectively anticipate and adapt to changing circumstances.

Upon leaving CLC-16, each member of this organization will be experts in their field, knowledgeable in all aspects of combat service support, and leaders in their community.
