Col Eipp was born in 1964 in Sonoma, California. He enlisted the Marine Corps in December 1982. Upon completion of Recruit Training and Field Wireman MOS School, in August of 1983, he was transferred to the Marine Corps Reserves and drilled with the 6th Engineer Support Battalion’s Bulk Fuel Company at Phoenix AZ. In April of 1984 Col Eipp applied for and was accepted into the Platoon Leaders Course, while completing his Bachelors of Science Degree in Aeronautical Science at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU). After completing OCS, he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in August 1986.

Following TBS and Logistics Officer’s Course, he joined 1st Battalion, 11th Marines in July 1987 where he was assigned as the Maintenance Management Officer.

In August of 1989 he was transferred to Okinawa, Japan where he served as the S-4A/MMO for 9th Marine Regiment at Camp Hansen. During this period he participated in Valiant Blitz (Korea), Cobra Gold (Thailand) and several training deployments to the Philippines.

In August of 1990 he was transferred to 29 Palms, CA and was assigned as the HQTRS Company Commander for CSSG-1. In January 1991 he deployed to SWA to participate in Desert Storm and served as the Operations Officer for CSSD-91. In January 1992 he was assigned as the S-4 for CSSG-1.

In February of 1993 he was transferred to Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA to study Space System Operations. He received a Master of Science in Space Systems Technology.

Upon completing his degree in June 1995, he was transferred to MCCDC in Quantico, VA to work as the Space Concepts Officer in Concepts Division. During this period, he worked on several concepts to include Information Operations, MPF 2010, and Riverine Operations.

In May of 1998 he was transferred to 3D MAW at MCAS El Toro and was assigned as the Wing Engineer and BRAC Officer. He coordinated the move of 3D MAW from El Toro and Tustin to MCAS Miramar, MCAS Camp Pendleton, and 29 Palms.

In June of 2000, he was transferred to MWSS-373 and served as the as the Operations Officer until his transfer to 1st FSSG on 4 Sep 2002.

Upon reporting to 1st FSSG, Col Eipp was assigned as the Group Inspector. On 15 November he re-assigned to 1st TSB as the Operations Officer and deployed to Iraq in January 2003 as the Operations Officer for Transportation Support Group in support of OIF. Upon Returning to Camp Pendleton Col fleeted up to be the XO for CSSG-11.

On 27 May 2004, Col Eipp assumed command of H&S Battalion 1st FSSG and then deployed in support of OIF-II-II. On 12 January 2005, the 1st FSSG restructured into the Expeditionary Warfighting Template and Col Eipp assumed command of Combat Logistics Battalion-1.

In July of 2006 Col Eipp transferred to US Northern Command for duty as the Logistics Operations Branch Chief in the J-4. He was subsequently selected to attend Top Level School at the US Army War College from July 2008 to June 2009.

Col Eipp was promoted to his current rank on 1 November 2007 and his personal awards include the Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (1 Gold Star in lieu of second), Navy Commendation Medal (2 Gold Stars in lieu of second and third award), and Navy Achievement Medal.
