Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey L. Jarosz
Commanding Officer, Combat Logistics Battalion 5
Lieutenant Colonel Jarosz was born in Chicago, IL. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in 1992. Following graduation from The Basic School and the Logistics Officer Course, he transferred to First Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Camp Pendleton, CA where he served as Maintenance Management Officer, Assistant Logistics Officer, and Logistics Officer before transferring in 1996.
Captain Jarosz was then assigned as Assistant Logistics Officer, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), Okinawa, Japan. In summer of 1997 he transferred to Naval Reserve Officer Training Command Unit, University of California, Berkeley for duty as Marine Officer Instructor. He graduated from the Amphibious Warfare School in May 2001. Upon graduation, he was assigned to Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton where he served as both Operations Officer and Mobilization Officer, Assistant Chief of Staff, Logistics. He was promoted to Major in September 2001.
In January 2003 he was assigned as Logistics Officer (S-4), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable). While with 11th MEU (SOC) he deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, in 2003 and again in 2004-2005. In August 2005, he transferred to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA, where he served both as Operations Officer (S-3) and as Executive Officer, Headquarters and Service Battalion. He was promoted to his current rank in October 2007. In July 2008, he transferred to Korea for duty as Assistant Chief of Staff, Logistics, Marine Forces Korea. In June 2009, LtCol Jarosz reported to 1st Marine Logistics Group for duty as Commanding Officer, Combat Logistics Battalion Five.
