Mission Statement

To provide the Division Commanding General the most comprehensive public affairs program, implementing civilian media relations, community relations, information programs for the internal and external audience, and deployment training.

Duties

The Public Affairs Officer advises the Commanding General on current issues and media trends, focusing efforts on promoting the Division’s command mission. Public affairs personnel support the Division’s subordinate commands by telling the Marine Corps story through the deeds and words of the operational Marines and sailors in print, still photo and video products.

The Public Affairs Office maintains rapport with local and national media, maintains liaison with Department of Defense and U.S. government agencies, local governments and community organizations, and coordinates action with staff sections to implement public affairs mission goals.
