A Marine from the 1st Marine Division has been named the motor transport operations Chief of the Year by the United States Marine Corps' Motor Transport Association.

Approximately 220 Marines and sailors with 1st Reconnaissance Battalion returned to Camp Pendleton Dec. 15, following a seven-month deployment to Afghanistan.
