Members of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit's maritime raid force board a vessel miles from Southern California's San Clemente Island during counterpiracy and counterterrorism training Sept. 7. The unit embarked the amphibious assault ship Makin Island and amphibious transport dock New Orleans in San Diego to begin a second seagoing exercise since becoming a complete Marine air-ground task force in May.
