Letter from the Chaplain

Families of 1st CEB Warriors,

It is a privilege to communicate with you during this ongoing deployment. If the deployment is the same for you as it is for me, then it is full of ups and downs, vic-tories and defeats. Each day is a learning process, a chance to grow, and an opportunity to correct the mental mistakes of the day before. Your Marines/ Sailors are the most inspiring people I have ever worked around. They face triumph with humility and set back with perseverance. All this and we have been gone just six weeks.

We have had over 30 fathers support our United Through Reading Program. For some of you this is good, others of you are probably asking where your DVD is. I assure you, my RP and I are working aggressively to make sure all fathers have the op-portunity to stay connected. Iyour child?s father has not sent one, let us know and let them know of your dismay, and your missing DVD will be secured. We are also working hard at distributing the care packages we are receiv-ing. The generosity of many of you, supporting organiza-tions, and communities in ournation is overwhelming. Be assured, your loved one is on the radar of all those who have the ability to increase their welfare.

As the Chaplain, I can only offer each of you my gratitude for the sacrifice you are making, and above all my unending prayers. The sacri-fices you are making will have ripple effects, lasting no less than the next hundred years, to live that number no less than thousands. No one can pay you for what you endure, and there is no meas-urement to the good you are contributing. May the God of all peace bless and encourage each and every one of you in the months to come. Since we share in the common cause, I ask also for your continual prayers. Your prayers are the greatest weapon we have in the proc-ess of delivering peace.

God's grace,
Chaplain Crone
