Lieutenant Colonel Vincent Lumalcuri is currently serving as Executive Officer, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Camp Pendleton, California.
Lieutenant Colonel Lumalcuri hails from Yonkers, New York. He attended Siena College in Loudonville, New York, and was a midshipman in the Naval Reserve OfficerÕs Training Corps at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was commissioned a second lieutenant of Marines in May 1991. Following The Basic School he completed the Infantry OfficerÕs Course in early 1992.
Lieutenant Colonel LumalcuriÕs first assignment in the Fleet Marine Force was with Third Battalion, Second Marines, in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, where he served as a rifle platoon commander and 81mm mortar platoon commander. In 1993 he attended the U.S. ArmyÕs Infantry Mortar LeaderÕs and Basic Airborne Courses. As a lieutenant he deployed to Okinawa, Japan as part of the Unit Deployment Program, and the Mediterranean Sea and Indian Ocean with 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable).
In 1995 Lieutenant Colonel Lumalcuri reported for duty at the School of Infantry (East). As a Captain he served as Commanding Officer, Company C, and Operations Officer and Executive Officer of Infantry Training Battalion.
As a captain he attended the U.S. ArmyÕs Field Artillery OfficerÕs Advanced Course at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
In 1998 Lieutenant Colonel Lumalcuri reported for duty with Second Battalion, First Marines at Camp Pendleton, California. He served as assistant to the battalionÕs operations officer and as Strike Force Commander for the 13th Marine Expeditionary UnitÕs Maritime Special Purpose Force. For 27 months he served as Commanding Officer of Company G. During his tenure with Second Battalion, First Marines he deployed to the Western Pacific and the Arabian Gulf twice with the 11th and 13th Marine Expeditionary Units (Special Operations Capable).
As a major he served as Officer in Charge, Special Missions Branch, Special Operations Training Group, G-7, I Marine Expeditionary Force from November 2001 to June 2002.
Lieutenant Colonel Lumalcuri attended the Command and Staff College at Quantico, Virginia from 2002 to 2003. He reported for duty with the G-5, Marine Forces Pacific in mid 2003, where he has served as a planner to the USPACOM and USCENTCOM theaters. In early 2005 he deployed with Combined Support Force-536 to Thailand as part of the relief effort for the Southeast Asian tsunami. Later that year he deployed to Camp Fallujah, Iraq, where he served as a G-3 Future Operations planner with II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).
Lieutenant Colonel Lumalcuri returned to the First Marine Division in 2006 where he served as the G-3 Plans Officer and was promoted to his present rank. In May 2007, he received orders to 5th Marine Regiment where he served as the Operations Officer for Regimental Combat Team 5 during that unitÕs 13 month tour in Iraq. Upon redeployment to Camp Pendleton in January 2009 he served as the Regimental Executive Officer. He transferred to 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit in June 2009.
Lieutenant Colonel Lumalcuri holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Siena College, and a Masters of Military Studies from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College.
Personal decorations include the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Gold Star in lieu of fourth award.
