7th Marines HQ hosts CAPSET II Tour

Twentynine Palms, Calif. – Marines with HQ Company, 7th Marine Regiment hosted a tour of the CAPSET II for their families, May 29th.

The demonstration was part of the Family Day; held to show 7th Marine Regiment’s families a small part of the training the Marines are doing while getting ready for deployment.

The guests not only got to see what the Marines will be working with, but also viewed their workplace. They were also able to speak with the Marines and learn a little about the equipment that they operate.

The CAPSET II (Capability Set II) is a series of tents that contain the core systems necessary to operate a Regimental or Division Combat Operations Center (COC).

For most of the guests, this was the first time they were able to see inside the training area.

After the tour, the Marines and families went back to Victory Field to have a cook out provided by the Marines from the 7th Marines Mess Hall. There were also snow cones, popcorn, and star jumpers set up for the children to enjoy.
