Greetings and welcome to all friends and family of Blackfoot Company. It is with much pride and admiration that we here continue the rich history of this storied company, and with the same admiration that I write to you here to inform you of your Marine’s hard work, adventures and achievements. The company has successfully transitioned to supporting the 31st MEU, with one platoon currently deployed to Okinawa with Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion 7th Marines (BLT 2/7) set to return in July, and one platoon preparing to depart to join BLT 1/7 in July. An additional platoon is currently forming that will depart in January 2011. It is easy to see here how the tempo of life and training is high, and your continued support to your Marines is thoroughly appreciated.
The next several weeks will be busy as we receive many additional personnel, begin training for next year’s MEUs, and persist in supporting the battalion at large in their OEF training requirements. Most importantly for now, we look forward to receiving back our forward-deployed platoon led by Lt. Medina in the coming weeks, followed by a send off of Lt. DeGregorio and his men. You can find more detailed updates for both of these missions here on this site.
There is no foreseeable downtime for Blackfoot Company in the near future; there will always be preparation and activity. As friends, family members, and supporters of Blackfoot Marines, you are a vital part of the program that produces our success. If you cannot find a resource that you desire on this site, please do not hesitate to contact our office or contact our family resource officer. We will do whatever it takes to help you stay engaged.
Semper Fidelis,
1st Lt Luke Williamson
