Major Storer entered the Marine Corps on August 16, 1988, where he attended recruit training at MCRD San Diego, California. After completing recruit training, he reported to his Marine Corps Ready Reserve unit C Co 4th Tank Battalion, Boise, Idaho where he was assigned as an 1811 M60A3 Tank Crewman.
Lance Corporal Storer attended Tank Crewman school in Fort Knox, Kentucky June-August 1990, where he received the MOS of 1811. During the next year LCpl Storer with his unit was activated and deployed to take part in Operation Desert Shield/Storm. LCpl Storer returned to the United States in June of 1991 and continued to focus on attending College at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. LCpl Storer served with C Co 4th tanks until in 1995, where he graduated Boise State with a Bachelors in History and minors in Political Science and Sociology and an Associates in Criminal Justice and Law enforcement. Upon completing College Sergeant Storer reported to Quantico, Virginia to attend Officer Candidates School during the summer of 1996.
Upon completion of OCS 2ndLt Storer reported to The Basic School where he graduated in May of 1997 with the MOS of 1802 Armor Officer. 2ndLt Storer reported to Fort Knox Kentucky during the summer of 1997 and completed Armor officer Basic and the Scout Platoon Leaders Course. He then reported in to 2D Tank Battalion 2d Marine Division II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Once at 2d Tanks 2ndLt Storer served as an M1A1 Tank Platoon Commander, Tank Company Executive Officer, AT-TOW Platoon Commander, and a Tank Company Commander. After Completing three years at 2d Tank Battalion, 1st Lt Storer executed orders to the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory, Project Metropolis, Quantico, Virginia, and was assigned as the Training Officer in Charge of urban tactics techniques and procedures.
Captain Storer spent two years writing the new doctrine for the Marine Corps on Urban tactics. In August 2002 Captain Storer returned to Fort Knox Kentucky to attend the Armor Captains Career Course. Upon Completion of the course Captain Storer reported to 2d Tank Battalion 2d Marine Division II MEF and deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom as the Assistant Operations Officer for the Battalion.
On April 4th outside of Baghdad, Captain Storer assumed command of C Company 2d Tank Battalion. Upon returning from Operation Iraqi Freedom, Captain Storer led Company C through a Combined Arms Exercise in January of 2004. Captain Storer relinquished command of Company C in July of 2004, when he was assigned as the S-4 Logistics Officer for 2d Tank Battalion.
In July of 2005 Captain Storer transferred from 2d Tank Battalion and reported to 4th Tank Battalion, 4th Marine Division and was assigned as the Inspector-Instructor for Company C 4th Tank Battalion, Boise, Idaho. He was promoted to Major in October 2006. In July 2008 Major Storer attended the Marine Corps Command and Staff College graduating with a Masters of Military Studies and in June 2009 received orders to 1st Tank Battalion to serve as the Battalion Executive Officer, his current billet assignment.
Major Storer’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with combat distinguishing device for valor, a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with three gold stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon with gold star, and Marine Corps Reserve Good Conduct Medal w/ bronze.
Major Storer is married and has two sons.
