Chaplain Querido



Lieutenant Manuel T. Querido Jr. was born in the Philippines. He completed his Bachelor in Theology April 7, 1991 and Masters in Divinity March 1, 2001 in St. Andrew’s Theological Seminary in the Philippines. He was ordained to the Holy Orders of Deacon on October 24, 1991 and to the Holy Orders of Priesthood on December 5, 1992.

Lieutenant Querido moved to Guam in 1994 and continued his priestly ministry until he joined the United State Navy Chaplain in 2007. He completed his Officer Indoctrination Course on June 25, 2007 and Basic Chaplain Course on August 10, 2007 in Newport, Rhode Island.

Lieutenant Querido reported to his first duty station on Marine Corps Base in 29 Palms, California on August 16, 2007 with the 3d Battalion, 11th Marines.

From January 15, 2008 to April 27, 2008 Lieutenant Querido was deployed to Iraq with 1st Battalion 11th Marines. After his short deployment he returns to 3/11 and remain as the battalion chaplain.
