History


2003-2009
Deployed during January 2003 with the 1st Marine Division to Kuwait. Participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom in support of Regimental Combat Team 5. Relocated during August 2003 to Camp Pendleton, California. During August 2004, while operating as provisional military police, deployed with the 1st Marine Division to Camp Ramadi, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II. Relocated during March 2005 to Camp Pendleton, California. Batteries continued to deploy as both traditional artillery and provisional military police from 2005 until 2007. In 2008, the Battalion again deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom, this time as a provisional Civil Affairs Group. In 2009, the Battalion returned and reconstituted, serving again as traditional cannon artillery.
