1st Battalion, 4th Marines

Family Readiness Officer
Mrs. Sebrina King
What is Family Readiness? Per MCO 1754.6A, "Family readiness is defined as families who are prepared and equipped with the skills and tools to successfully meet the challenges of the military lifestyle. Family readiness directly affects the fundamental purpose of the Marine Corps to make Marines and win battles by building commitment and raising morale, thereby increasing unit readiness."
Hello, Family, Friends and Supporters of the China Marines,

Dear Family, Friends and Supporters of 1/4,
I hope you were able to make the BLT 1/4 Holiday Party. There was lots of food, prizes and gifts for the children. Santa Clause was driven in on a Fire Truck!!!! It looks like all had a great time.
I would like to encourage you to attend as many events as you can. These events are the best resource when it comes to support, especially during deployments. You will find that you are NOT alone!!! There will be at least 2 events monthly that you can attend during the upcoming deployment.
The key is to stay busy. Give yourself a goal...something you would like to achieve during this deployment. A few that others from previous deployments have done….take a few classes, lose a few pounds, paint a room, etc. As long as you can keep your mind occupied on a personal project, you should be fine. I am always available via cell phone and email. Please contact me whenever you have a need for resources or just have a question. I hope you have been able to view the pictures that have been sent via email. If you are not receiving emails on a regular basis from me, please send me the information below so that I can get you on the email distribution list.
I hope to hear from you soon!!!!!

I am glad you are at the 1/4 website. The Family Readiness Link will be updated as much as possible to provide you with the most current information, including newsletters.
My name is Sebrina King and I am the Family Readiness Officer for 1st Battalion, 4th Marines. I am completely dedicated to provide you with the tools and resources needed to successfully meet the challenges of this unique lifestyle. I want our family to be prepared!!!
I was raised a Marine Corps BRAT and have been married to my Marine for 16 years now. I have 4 children and have first hand knowledge of how deployments can affect a person. Although, it is challenging at times, I am ready for another 10 years…..my husband may think it is time to retire but that is another story…hahaha
The assistance I provide is not only available during deployments but throughout your Marine’s time here with 1/4. I am the direct link of communication between the Battalion Commander and the Families. Communication is the key to readiness.
The Family Readiness Program provides ALL Marines the option of having up to five (5) authorized contacts. The information I can provide to you will depend on the Marine’s Contact Authorization Form. The information that I will be providing is completely “friendly”. I am NOT involved with any type of casualty or injured assistance calls. This information will be handled by Headquarters Marine Corps. So, rest assured, when you hear from me, it is to offer support or to share official communication from the Command Team.
Whether you are experienced or new to this lifestyle, there are great workshops available through The Marine Corps Family Team Building. They offer great programs here at Camp Pendleton; including L.I.N.K.S Workshops (Lifestyle, Insight, Networking, Knowledge & Skills) for Spouses, Teens and Marines. They will be offering an online version of L.I.N.K.S for Parents and Siblings soon. CREDO (Chaplains Religious Enrichment Development Operation) offers great retreats for individuals, Couples and Families. These are just a few programs that are available. For more information, please shoot me an email.
If you would like to volunteer, there are many opportunities available. The Command Team is always looking for Morale Support Volunteers. These volunteers are open to anyone interested. Again, please contact me for more information.
Please do not hesitate in contacting me. I am here for you.
There are several ways to contact me; by email at Sebrina.king@usmc.mil or by phone at 760-763-3517. If you have an immediate need to speak with me, please call my cell phone at 760-277-5894 and I will return your call as quickly as possible. I look forward to hearing from you.
Respectfully,
Sebrina King1/4 Family Readiness Officer
