Friends and Family of Charlie Company,
Time is flying by and our deployment departure date will be here before you know it. It seems like yesterday that we were closing with the "enemy" in 8 inches of snow at Bridgeport and conducting a live fire company heloborne attack during Enhanced Mojave Viper. The training has been fast and furious, but the bottom line is this company is trained. Just last month, we completed the Special Operations Training Group Helicopter Raid package aboard Camp Pendleton. We are very lethal and very survivable, and I promise your Marines are prepared to go into harms way, or wherever the MEU may take us.
With three "at sea" periods before now and our deployment, it may seem like we have already deployed. I ask that you continue to use all the assets that the BLT Family Readiness Officer and the Charlie Company Family Readiness Assistants can provide.
The BLT is sponsoring a Town Hall Meeting on 18 February, and I look forward to seeing all of you there.
Information is at a premium these days and those are the
best forums to receive it. I thank you for continued support of
the Marines and Charlie Company. Below is the "Warrior's
Creed" which was written by a survivor of the Battle of Iwo
Jima and it epitomizes the philosophy of the company.
"Wherever I go, everyone is a little bit safer because I am there."
"Wherever I am, anyone in need has a friend."
"Whenever I return home, everyone is happy I am there."
Semper Fidelis,
Capt Dan Loughry
Charlie Company Commander
